THE 93RD BEST PICTURE OSCAR NOMINEES

After an arduous year and a lengthy delay, we’ve finally reached the film lover’s highlight of the year: the Academy Awards.

Tonight, an adapted, transatlantic ceremony is airing with an unpredictability unlike recent years. As well as setting itself up to be a surprise of an event, throughout this year’s long awards season a different nominee seems to have taken home the prize in each category at almost every ceremony, leaving most clueless as to how tonight will go down.

It’s fitting then, that this year I have for the first time seen every film nominated for Best Picture, and reviewed them all (as well as many of the other major films nominated).

Below are links to each fivethreeninety review for this year’s Best Picture nominees:

THE FATHER

JUDAS AND THE BLACK MESSIAH

MANK

MINARI

NOMADLAND

PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN

SOUND OF METAL

THE TRIAL OF THE CHICAGO 7

In such a tumultuous year, I’ve found great solace in throwing myself into films as much as possible.

I’ll be sad to see awards season go.

The 93rd Academy Awards air tonight Sunday, April 25th at 6:30 PM ET / 3:30 PM PT
